Things to Do in NYC

Museums, Broadway, parks, and pizza. The definitive list of NYC experiences.

Things to Do in New York City

You can't do it all. Don't try. Pick a few neighborhoods and dive deep.

Museums & Culture

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met)

It's colossal. You could spend a week here. Don't miss the Temple of Dendur and the Rooftop Garden (summer only).

MoMA (Museum of Modern Art)

Home to Van Gogh's Starry Night and Warhol's soup cans. The design store is excellent.

Broadway Show

Seeing a musical is a quintessential NYC experience.

  • Tip: For discounted tickets, visit the TKTS booth in Times Square (under the red steps) on the day of the show.

Landmarks & Views

Summit One Vanderbilt

The newest observation deck. It's an immersive glass experience. Best views of the Chrysler Building.

Brooklyn Bridge Walk

Walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan at sunset for the best skyline views.

Central Park

Rent a bike or just walk. Sheep Meadow is great for picnics. Bethesda Terrace is the iconic photo spot.

Food & Dining

Pizza Tour

Try a slice at Joe's Pizza (Greenwich Village), Prince Street Pizza (SoHo), or Scarr's (LES). Fold it. Eat it.

Chelsea Market

An indoor food hall in the old Nabisco factory. Great for lunch (Los Tacos No. 1 is a must).

Bagels

Ess-a-Bagel, Russ & Daughters, or Tompkins Square Bagels. Get it toasted with cream cheese and lox.

Hidden Gems

The High Line

An elevated park built on an old freight rail line. Walk from Hudson Yards down to the Meatpacking District.

The Morgan Library & Museum

Review J.P. Morgan's incredible private library. It's stunning and often quieter than the big museums.
